Waiting for Spring

I was looking through the Marc Jacobs e-mook magazine which came with a bonus Marc Jacobs cosmetics case, mirror and handkerchief I started to think about Spring fashion. Although I would not be able to pull off this look the colours are amazing in this magazine and I am liking the whole print on print look. This is the Marc Jacobs magazine:

A mini project

I have decided to start on a mini project, to be honest this is going to be tough.

The other day I popped into Lincraft and also Spotlight( they had a VIP event during the weekend) well in the hopes of finding some material on a project. I usually enjoy making jewelery type of stuff.

Anyways I discovered a vintage floral print material at Lincraft in the remnant section. I don't know how to sew or anything but was inspired by this one piece of material and thought hey I will make a skirt from it. So here is the start of a journey. I may look into getting a sewing machine too (but I am totally clueless at the moment on which ones are good so hopefully I can find good one) I was actually very impressed that Lincraft also prints out washing instructions for this material.

After finding this material I made a trip to Spotlight and found some more material. I am going to take it step by step and see what I can create.

I was also talking to a friend about possibly making something and we decided on setting ourselves a goal and create something by the end of June. Hopefully I can stick to this goal.

Well here are some of the material I found:

The lace materials are really pretty, the teal one was $6.00 per metre and the brown one was $5.00 per metre.

ON A BUDGET?

For those who cannot sew (which is me at the moment) and would like to accessorize their outfit you can buy material for cheap and turn it into a scarf. Here it is:

The colour in real life is more rich in colour like a cobalt blue shade.I purchased half a metre which cost me $2.50. You can easily have a great winter scarf for a great price :)

Tips:

Try to find material which is thick and soft (if you want to create a winter scarf). I think the one I picked up was like a jersey type material.

Check out the clearance section of materials first as they have amazing things there at a great price. This is where I found this material. The ends of this one is frayed which adds more of a scarf feel to it (sorry it didn't show up in the photo).

All you need is approx half a metre.

Now you can wear the scarf with your outfits.

VIP Chadstone Shopping

I was thinking I should be on a major shopping ban but whenever I say to myself "I will not buy anything for a week" I always seem to break the ban. With the VIP event I knew if I went I would end up buying something.

I was actually excited today to find the Coach store in the luxury designer section of Chadstone. I never really noticed it before because of all the other stores such as Chanel, Louis Vuitton being there. I just could not stop admiring the Coach Claire bag, its an absolute gorgeous bag especially the metallic one. Times like this I wish I was in the US where it is much cheaper.

Well I ended up going store to store as all the shops had some kind of discount going on and I ended up buying stuff from Witchery (also signed up for their membership :) and really looking forward to the $30 credit too) and Sportsgirl as they had a further 30% off reduced items. I was able to hold back and not buy too many things as I have done quite a lot of damage the last couple of weeks. I also saw the cape jacket in black though at Forever New but really just a pity about the whole polyblend thing. Its really cute otherwise.

Here is what I ended up coming home with:

Sportsgirl Animal legging $13.95
(I am usually not a Animal Print type of person but ever since acquiring the Lover Zulu taupe shorts I really enjoy wearing a bit of animal print)

Sportsgirl headband$10.46

Witchery tops $13.96 each

Witchery top 34.96
Well now time to start saving...

MAXSHOP.COM

I discovered this site while procrastinating and through my daily dosage of the vogue forums. I seriously don't know what I would do without the vogue forums. Anyways the clearance section has a further 50% off so I managed to pick up a few bargains :)

Leaf Soft Leather Belt

24.50 AUD

Butterfly Pirate Pants
14.50 AUD

Merino Sweater Dress
14.50 AUD

Nikola Dress
24.75 AUD

All available through https://www.maxshop.com/au/

I think I am addicted to black clothing at the moment as everything I purchased was black. Black is so versatile so I can team these up with like bright coloured shoes or cute accessories. I am going to try and create some looks for under 50AUD soon. Hopefully I can come up with a few things with these items and a few other things that are sitting in my wardrobe.

UPDATE:
I actually ended up receiving all my items and in terms of sizing some of the things are on the larger side so I will return them. I also did end up making a few more orders through maxshop since this post and managed to pick up a few dresses, jacket and a scarf for $2.50. I am really overall happy with the items and will definitely buy from here again.

DFO bargains

So I made a trip to DFO Moorabbin today and it seems like a lot of the stores were doing a further 20% off storewide. I am trying to save money at the moment however I managed to grab a few bargains today.

Firstly I went to Witchery and with the further 20% off I found this leather bag in the watermelon color. I just love the colour and it would be great for summer and spring. It was only $31.95 which is great value for leather.

Then I went to Mimco and they also had a further 20% off. I ended up getting these plaid stockings. I really like buying stockings as they can be worn during the winter with a skirt or shorts. These are definitely perfect for winter and I'll team them up with shorts and boots. It only cost me $11.95.

My final purchase was at Country Road where they had a further 50% off skirts. I was lucky to find this drape pocket skirt in my size and after the discount it came down to $30.

Addicted to Coach

I love Coach bags and the latest addition to my collection is this Coach Chelsea Tote Bag in the Putty Colour (it is like a greyish colour) and the leather is patent. I happened to come across this bag whilst searching for Coach bags. From what I have read on the forums this bag was a factory made bag for the outlets and was never released at the stores. I also bought the Coach Graffiti Tattersall Scarf to add to the bag. Here it is:

Coach is very expensive in Australia so my option to find bargains at the moment is on Ebay. I occasionally search bonanzle for some bags too. My dream is to go to the US one day so I can hit the outlet stores for some bargains.

I will post up my everyday bag which is the black large Sabrina bag soon.

Alice in Wonderland

Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland will be hitting the movies this Thursday in Australia both in 2D and 3D and I am getting addicted to Alice in Wonderland inspired things. The official website is here for those who have yet to see the trailer.

http://www.disney.com.au/disneyfilms/aliceinwonderland/

Here is the gorgeous movie poster.I recently bought these suited thigh high stockings on ebay for roughly about $10 AUD which have cute card suits on the side.

I am also waiting on another pair which I fell in love with the moment I saw Avril Lavigne's single cover Alice.
